Mrs. Jones' Soapbox ~ Review & Giveaway

So, I think I've said this before, but I get kind of excited about cleaning products. Strange? Maybe. Do I actually like cleaning? Not really, but new and interesting cleaning products definitely make it more tolerable for me.

I found the coolest shop on Etsy, called Mrs. Jones' Soapbox. When I found it, I was intrigued by the products and their packaging. I loved the idea that the products are safe and natural, come in recycled and reusable packaging and are mixed and crafted by hand. I also loved that Jamie (the owner) describes her shop in this way... "Providing simple, healthy solutions for one of life's less glamorous jobs." Isn't that the truth?!

She offers many great cleaning products like disinfecting spray, glass cleaner, etc. I was lucky enough to receive a sample (5 loads worth) of her Laundry Detergent+Softener. It's an all-in-one and the first thing I noticed about it was the great smell when I got the package in the mail.

Here is how she describes this Laundry Detergent+Softener...
The Pert Plus of laundry detergents, this is a cleaner, deodorizer and softener all-in-one. Clothes come out soft and free from the waxy residues left behind by traditional detergents and fabric softeners. The mild ingredients make it the ideal product for babies and people with allergies and skin conditions. You need just one heaping spoonful of detergent for each wash, so this product will cost you less and last longer than any other on the market.
Ingredients: coconut & citronella soap, borax, washing soda, baking soda, essential oil blend.

Like I said, the smell is a fantastic clean smell. I have one child who has some sensitivities to some detergents and he had no problem with this one whatsoever. The clothes also came out looking, smelling and feeling fresh and clean. I was skeptical to how well the whole all-in-one concept would work when it came to the fabric softener part, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that it worked just fine. I also couldn't believe that that little bag she sent would really do 5 loads worth of laundry, but I was surprised again when I discovered it actually does! This is seriously great stuff!

Now, let me show you what I think is super cool about the laundry detergent and what I totally want...

This is the super cute jar that holds 80 loads worth of detergent and comes with a biodegradable bamboo measuring spoon. Isn't it so cute? I would love to open up my laundry room cupboard and see this cute little jar sitting on the shelf instead of a huge plastic bottle (which all seem to leak a little and leave a gooey substance inside the cupboard). I love it!


You can also buy refill bags like the one below in 80 or 160 load quantities. Then you can just keep filling your cute little jar up!

Seriously, how fun is it that you can choose the pattern on your cleaning product bottles? That definitely makes me a little more excited about cleaning.
