Erge Designs ~ Review

As you know, I LOVE clothes. When I saw the simple designs and great fabrics and patterns of the clothes from Erge Designs, I was instantly hooked!

I was lucky enough to receive 3 great shirts from Erge Designs to review and I am blissfully happy with them. As I mentioned before, their designs are mostly simple, and that's a great combination with the awesome patterns and fabrics that they use. The shirts I received are pretty much just basic t-shirts, but I love the colors of them. The one is a great purple and blues combo, another is an aqua snakeskin pattern and the third is blues and tans with ruching up the side, which adds a great design element.

I'm one of those people who tends to buy "cutesy" shirts when I go shopping and I never seem to have any basic or casual kinds of shirts, so I was thrilled to receive these because they add a more basic or casual element to my wardrobe without being boring. What more could a girl ask for, right?

Oh, and did I mention how soft these shirts are? Extremely comfortable.

So, what do I think of when I think of Erge Designs? I think of attractive designs that are comfortable and won't leave you broke. Just see for yourself at their website!

Just for fun, here are a few more of their pieces that I adore...

The Couponizer ~ Review & Giveaway

I doubt there's too many people out there who would say they don't care about saving money or getting the most for their money, so unless you're one of those strange few, you are going to love this!

The Couponizer is an awesome organizer to keep your coupons, discount cards, receipts and shopping list all together in one neat space! As if just hearing that about it isn't already exciting, let me tell you more about what it offers to you and ultimately to your family...

The Couponizer is a spiral-bound book that has an elastic closure strap to keep everything where it should be and keep it from opening up on you when you don't want it to. Inside is where you will find 18 color coded and easy to read coupon pockets, 4 generic coupon pockets, 3 gift card/shopper loyalty sleeves, a Shopping List - 20 page tear off list pad with cardboard backing, and the CoupTracker – 15 page spiral bound list pad with cardboard backing. Not only that, but there are pockets right up in the front for coupons you plan on using for your current shopping trip, the ones you will actually be using at checkout and coupons that will expire this month (so you never miss out on a coupon because it's jumbled in with the others in it's category and expires). There are even pockets for Entertainment & Travel, Fast Food & Restaurants, Services, Shopping & Retail, Rebates (also sweepstakes, refunds and UPC's/box tops)and Rewards. They thought of everything!

The CoupTracker allows you to track your savings and when you see how much you're saving, you'll be motivated to keep it up!

Another great thing The Couponizer comes with is the CoupStacker – Pre-sorting mat color coded to match the system pockets. The CoupStacker allows you to Clip & Organize in one step! This "Patent Pending" feature of the system makes organizing coupons fast and easy. Just clip a coupon and lay it down on the category it belongs. Then after clipping, the coupons are easily transferred to the pockets in the Couponizer booklet. The categories on the CoupStacker correspond in exact order and color with the Couponizer category pockets. Now how easy is that?!

The Couponizer also comes with a pair of scissors and a carrying bag so you can keep your Couponizer, scissors and CoupStacker all together.

If you ask me, this is every serious coupon user's dream! My husband and I had gotten really into couponing for a while, but then it seemed like it took up so much time and that we just could never figure out a really good way to be organized with it. This has me so excited to get back on track with saving money for our family and making the most of the money we've been blessed with. I think The Couponizer is going to play a big part in helping with my family's finances.

CSN Stores Review

Well, you may remember me doing a teaser post a few weeks back about CSN stores (see it here) and today I'd like to share something awesome with you that I received from them to review!

My oldest son, Gavin, is almost 11 1/2 and will be going into middle school this year. We decided that it was time to move him into his own room and move our youngest in with our middle son. I was trying to come up with a cool theme to use for his room and then it struck me... guitars! He plays the guitar and has an acoustic and an electric. He LOVES guitars, so using them as the theme for his room seemed like a no-brainer. In looking for items to decorate his room with, I knew I wanted a cool guitar bedding set. Well, most of them were crazy expensive or had skulls or other things on them that we don't exactly like and I was pretty much getting discouraged about it all. Then, something cool happened...

I was contacted by CSN stores to do a product review and was wondering how I was possibly going to choose something from their over 200 stores and then it hit me! I decided to look at their BeddingSets.com store and ended up finding the coolest guitar bedding set, the In Style Rock On Twin Piece Bed Set! They were happy to allow me to review it and I received it very quickly. Well, that was the easy part. The hard part was all the work I had to do to get the room ready. I spent an entire 3 days painting, cleaning the carpet and getting the room put together and when we put the bedding set on, it was absolutely perfect. In fact, we decided to base the colors of the room on colors that are in the bedspread. We chose a cool gray color, called Wet Cement, for three of the walls and a bright orange, called Jack 'O Lantern, for the accent wall. Super cool. A really cool thing about the bedding set too is that the sheets and pillowcase are less "themed" so that if Gavin ever decides he wants to get rid of the guitar theme, he can just get a new bedspread and keep the same sheets. That makes them an even better bargain to me. The bedding set is also constructed very nicely, so it should last a long time. It's just cool, what can I say?! See for yourself!

Here is the room BEFORE, when it was my youngest son's room...

Here is the room AFTER, with the cool new walls, bedding set, rug (which is also from CSN stores) and a little wall decor. (We'll be adding more decoration to the room over time)...

I am very happy with the bedding set from CSN stores and feel very fortunate to have had the chance to review such a great product. I highly recommend them because between their over 200 stores, they offer pretty much anything and everything you could think of. So get over there and check it out for yourself!

Plow & Hearth ~ Rug Review & Giveaway

So, you know I am a big fan of Plow & Hearth. Not only of their products, but of their customer service as well! I have already reviewed an Outdoor Storage Box (which I absolutely love and keeps my patio chair cushions nice and dry) and an awesome Drink Dispenser. This time, I have something that both adds style to my family room and functions as a way to keep my carpet from getting tracked up as people come in my sliding glass door from my deck.

I was very lucky to be sent the 2' x 3' Spring Glade Rug in Brown Botanical (pictured below). From what I could tell from the picture on their website, it looked like it would fit in nicely with my family room decor, as well as be the perfect size to put in front of my sliding glass door. Also, what I read in the description made it sound like exactly what I was looking for...

Indoor/Outdoor Hooked Rug
With all of the beauty and softness of a traditional hooked rug, our rose floral Spring Glade Rug takes indoor/outdoor rugs to a new level. The 100% polyester hooked construction ensures that it is truly suitable for both indoors and out. Leave it on your porch or patio without worry - just hose it off to clean. Indoors, it will stand up to high traffic areas like your kitchen, entryway or mudroom. Imported.

Well, when the rug arrived and I took it out, I instantly loved the design and it seemed durable enough to stand up to the traffic coming in through my sliding glass door (especially from the boys coming in from being in the pool right now). I also know it will be great for in the winter when they are coming in from playing in the snow. The rug fit perfectly in the space I needed it for and something else I really love about it is that it has all the colors in it that my family room is decorated in, as well as adds a few more colors that I could pull from for decor accents.

As usual, Plow & Hearth delivered an amazing product that I couldn't be happier with. What an excellent company that I would recommend to anyone and everyone! They have such a wide variety of products and I can get lost for hours looking at all of the great things they offer. Here are a few things that I'd love to have around my house...

The extremely generous people at Plow & Hearth would like to offer one of my readers your choice of 2' X 3' Spring Glade Rug in either the Brown Botanical (like I reviewed) or the Rose Floral design (both shown below). That's a $59.95 rug for free! See below for how to gain entries to win a great rug!

JustGano ~ Review & Giveaway

Oh jewelry, sweet jewelry... how I love you. Ok, that's a little overboard, but I really do love jewelry and I found a company that doesn't just sell jewelry, but has about the coolest idea I've seen in a long time!

JustGano has taken a great approach to treating yourself with a new piece of jewelry in a way that best suits you! In fact, JustGANO stands for Just Get A New One! They provide a membership program in which you can choose to receive 1, 3, or 6 new pieces of jewelry each month. You decide what fits best into your budget. They make it so easy too. Upon becoming a member, you receive a welcome email that helps you get started. You just create a wishlist from the many great pieces they have on their website and within 3-6 days you'll receive your first piece of jewelry in the mail, along with a free bracelet as a gift to you for becoming a new member. Then, each month that you are a member, you will receive 1 piece of jewelry if you choose the Deb Membership ($7.95 per month), 3 pieces of jewelry if you choose the Demi Membership ($21.95 per month) and 6 pieces of jewelry if you choose the Diva Membership ($39.95 per month). If you should decide you need to cancel your membership, you can do it at any time and there is no cancellation fee! I like that because it means you aren't obligated to continue the membership for any required length of time.

Here's a little about their member benefits...

Sounds awesome, doesn't it?

I tend to get bored and like to change up my jewelry a lot, so their membership program is just perfect for people like me. Chances are, I would spend much more than the $7.95 Deb Membership on jewelry, if I were to go out to a store to get something new, so this would actually save me money and I'd get a package in the mail!!! I LOVE getting packages in the mail!

I found every step of their membership process to be easy and fun! Once I received the welcome email, I quickly got over to their website and started adding things to my wishlist. There was so much to choose from and it was hard to pick a favorite. I ended up deciding on the Gwen Necklace (pictured below). I liked that is was versatile and would look great when wearing something dressy or with a burnout tee and pair of jeans. The package arrived in the mail within a few days and I quickly opened it up to take a look. Included was a nice welcome letter that told me about their Referral Program that I could join, if interested, as well as thanking me for becoming a member. Here's where the fun part comes in though. Opening the box, yes, lifting the lid and seeing that shiny silver funky chain necklace made me one happy girl! I pulled it out of the box and tried it on and was instantly excited about when I could wear it! Now, that is some fun shopping, if you ask me!

Now, I know you have to be getting excited about this cool membership program, so I've got some exciting news for you ALL OF MY READERS/FOLLOWERS will receive a third month free upgrade upon joining if you decide to get a membership of your own! Isn't that awesome?!

Oh yeah, and one other thing... JustGano would like to offer one of my readers an item of your choice!!! Now that is seriously awesome! So, see below for how to gain entries to get yourself an awesome new piece of jewelry!

*Please note that JustGano does NOT ship outside of the US*

Paula's Choice Review

As embarrassing as this is to share, the fact that I've had to walk around with this for a couple years now is worse. Ok, so it's nothing horrendous or anything, but it is a definite issue that makes me self-concious and uncomfortable. What is it? Well, it's the clogged pores that cover my chest and can be seen in any shirt that doesn't cover up to my neck. As you know, I love clothes and the reality is that most shirts that aren't t-shirts, do not come up to your neck. Therefore, the upper part of my chest is often exposed and that means the clogged pores can be seen. They aren't like whiteheads or blackheads, but just little bumps all over my chest and some are red and inflamed at times. They started becoming visible a couple of years ago (for no reason that I have been able to figure out) and are there year round. I have tried just about everything I can think of to get rid of them. I scrub, I put acne creams and washes on them, I even resorted to straight rubbing alcohol to see if I could get them to dry up, but nothing worked. I finally decided I was going to go to the dermatologist to see what he would recommend and then I decided to see what I could find out on the internet first.

What I found out was that a lot of people experience the same thing I do and have tried a million and one different things to no avail. However, I started seeing where one person had found this great product and shared her success with it in a thread online and then one by one, several other people who had the same thing tried it and had success as well! Well, that was all I needed to hear and I immediately contacted the company and asked about reviewing this product and they said yes! So, here we are, and here is my experience with this product.

The product I'm referring to is Paula's Choice Exfoliating 2% BHA Gel and here is some info about the product, taken from their website...

Best for: Normal to Very Oily Skin

•Exfoliates and smoothes your skin with maximum strength 2% salicylic acid in a non-sticky gel that feels weightless and glides over skin
•pH range of 3.2–3.6 guarantees efficacy you'll see daily
•Penetrates the pore lining to eliminate stubborn blackheads
•Helps heal resistant acne and decreases your tendency to break out
•Works to fade red marks from past blemishes
•Stimulates collagen production for firmer, younger-looking skin
•Salicylic acid is a natural anti-inflammatory and antibacterial agent
•Contains potent anti-irritants to calm redness, including redness caused by rosacea
•Suitable for all skin types but best for combination to oily skin
•100% fragrance-free and contains no dyes or coloring agents

That all sounds good, right? But, does it actually work?

YES, yes it does! Within a week I saw incredible results! No more redness whatsoever in the bumps and they were getting smaller! My chest felt smoother to the touch as well. The best part was that I was able to wear a strapless dress to my cousin's wedding and didn't feel self-concious that people were wondering what the heck was all over my chest! I honestly notice it getting better and better everyday and feel so relieved to have found something that is actually working! I LOVE this product!

Maybe you have a similar issue that you're embarrassed about and haven't been able to find something to fix it. I can tell you that this product has done wonders for me and there's a great chance that it will for you too. The cost is $18.95 for 4oz, but it is beyond worth it. The gel is great too because a very little goes a very long way, so it will last you quite some time. I am so happy with this product and can't say enough good about it.

Paula's Choice offers many products that are definitely worth checking out. Just read the reviews on their website and on many other websites and you'll see what I mean. You just might find the perfect product to solve whatever skin issues you may be struggling with!

Goodbye detergent! ~ Review & Giveaway

I know this is a little dorky of me, but I'm sure there's others of you who can relate... I get excited about cleaning products. There, I said it. That being said, I don't especially like to clean, but when I have a cool new cleaning product, it kind of sends me on a little cleaning spree of sorts. Well, I just found my newest cleaning incentives in some cool products from Goodbye detergent!

*Goodbye detergent! is the award-winning line of environmentally friendly cleaning scrubs for your home, made with materials such as recycled corn cobs, peach pits, walnut shells, pumice stones, and plastic bottles.

These natural abrasives help to reduce the need for detergents and the scrubs last for months.

Designed by industrial designer Hiroki Hayashi these scrubs are made in Japan and come in 100% recycled packaging.

Goodbye detergent! offers you long lasting, unique, pliable scrubs that will change the way you clean.*

*Taken From Their Product Pamphlet*

I was sent a few of their products to try out and was instantly interested in the spaghetti scrubs they sent. They just plain look cool and after trying them out, they did exactly what they claimed they would. They reached in every nook and cranny of everything I washed with them and I needed little to no dish soap when using them. Something I really like about them is how you just rinse them and hang them over your faucet and they don't get stinky like dish rags do. That always grosses me out, so that is a huge selling factor for me about them. Here is some info about them from their website...

These interesting scrubs have natural abrasives for your scrubbing needs.
What do we mean by natural? How about corn cobs and peach pits?
No detergent is needed for general cleaning but a tiny dab of soap can be used if tackling heavy grease. Keep in mind that a little dab can go a long way because these scrubs will stay very soapy and the peach and corn abrasives are effective on their own.
Spaghetti Scrubs last for months and because of their unique shape, they’re pliable enough for trickier cleaning jobs and tight spots such as corners, whisks, and behind faucets. The best part is they dry quickly and completely so there’s never a stinky or moldy sponge in your sink. After you’re done cleaning, just rinse them, and hang on the faucet to dry.

•Reusable scrubs last for months
•Unique pliable shape
•Great for peeling vegetables
•Lack of mold and bacteria
•No smell or rust
•Save money and the environment by reducing the need for soaps

Don't they just sound and look cool?! Well, that's because they are! I haven't tried peeling vegetables with them yet, like it says you can, but I'm gonna have to give that a try because that seriously intrigues me for some reason.

The next product I was sent to review is their Heavy Duty Kitchen Cleaning Pad. It is made with natural alumina and is recommended for use for removing burns and stubborn stains on non-coated metal cookware such as stainless steel and cast iron. I have a stainless steel stock pot that got chili burned in it and I have had a heck of a time getting all of the burned stuff out of it, so I decided to give this a try. Sure enough, it did the trick! That makes me a fan!

Last of all, I was sent their Kitchen Cleaning Pad for Stainless steel & Granite. It is made with recycled plastic and recommended for use for polishing and removing stains, water spots, fingerprints and grease from stainless steel cookware, appliances and granite countertops. Now, as much as I wish I did, I don't have fancy granite countertops or stainless steel appliances. I have found that this pad works great on my tile countertops though! It gets in and cleans the grout between the tiles really well and just makes the counters look brighter! So, while I didn't use it on it's intended surfaces, it did a great job on what I have in my kitchen!

I am very impressed by these products and love that you don't have to use much detergent. I know that they say that you don't need any detergent, and that's probably true, but I'm not quite ready to completely give up at least a little dishsoap just yet. Baby steps, baby steps.

Well, the awesome news is that Goodbye detergent! would like to give one of my readers some of their great products as well! Please see below for how you can gain entries into this great giveaway!

BE SURE TO FOLLOW THE ENTRY DIRECTIONS EXACTLY FOR YOUR ENTRIES TO COUNT!!!!

This contest will be open until 11:59 PM on July 26th. At that time I will use random.org to determine the winner. The winner will then be emailed and have 24 hours to respond, otherwise I will choose a new winner. This contest is open to U.S. residents.

Jesus and the Children

***Special thanks to Pam Mettler of Zondervan for sending me a review copy.***

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Andrew is the creator, writer, and illustrator of the Lost Sheep series. Way back in 1989 as a young Bible college student, Andrew was asked to give the dreaded “children’s talk” at a large church. Andrew possessed one talent: he could draw sheep. He bought some overhead projector sheets and drew up the story of Cecil and the Lost Sheep. T he congregation loved it, so Andrew continued to draw stories to use with kids and adults. Other students, pastors, and teachers started borrowing the stories.

My personal thoughts on this book: Asher seemed to enjoy this book and I thought it was an easy way for children to understand how much Jesus loves them. I must admit that the kids on skateboards and the way the characters talked felt weird to me. I understand the concept of making the book a more modern way of sharing this Bible story with children, but I guess I just prefer the more traditional form. Seeing as the book isn't geared toward me, but toward children, I think it does do a good job of making the story easy to understand. So, overall, I think it's a good book.

Mountain Hardwear Kids

You may remember that I reviewed a great skirt from Mountain Hardwear and shared some of my other favorites of theirs in a review a short while back. If you missed it and want to check it out, go here. Anyway, I was given the awesome opportunity of reviewing some of their great kids products as well!

Riley was the lucky recipient of a cool hat that he's been wearing around all the time, called the Boy's Hardwear Cap. He got it in the Titanium color which is a cool dark gray (the picture shows it in the Stone Green color). He thinks it's great because his older brother has a lot of hats, so he was excited to have a cool one. The other great thing about it to me is that it is dark in color, so it doesn't get dirty looking from him wearing it outside and sweating in it. He loves it!

The other really awesome thing he received was their Epic Jacket in Sapphire (shown in picture). Here's a little description of it from their website.

Boy’s Epic Jacket

Keep them dry: this fully waterproof shell keeps the rain and snow on the outside. The breathable Conduit™ laminate also lets their body vapor escape, so they'll stay dry on the inside, too. Abrasion-resistant nylon shell is lightweight and longwearing.

This is a really cool jacket and Riley thinks so too. It is an absolutely perfect spring and early fall jacket and great for drizzly days. The color is great too. I really like this jacket and wish I had one for each of the boys!

I was more than happy with these items I received for review and so was Riley. I am very impressed with the quality of Mountain Hardwear products and can tell that they are very serious when it comes to quality and satisfaction. I highly recommend them. So get over to Mountain Hardwear and check out all the great products they have to offer!

Disclosure: I received these products for free for review purposes. My opinions expressed in this review were honest and genuine and I was in no way persuaded by the company involved.
