Healthy Hands Review & Giveaway

I am constantly having to get onto the boys about washing their hands and actually doing it for more than two seconds and using soap when they do. No matter how many times you try to explain to them about all the gross stuff that their hands touch and that ends up in their mouth after touching food or just their face...they could care less.

Well, a company called Healthy Hands wants to help and change all that. They have come up with little flexible toppers that attach to your liquid soap dispenser. When your kids push down on the dispenser to get the soap out, it lights up and plays music for 20 seconds. This is to teach them how long they need to wash for, in order to really get rid of all the yuck that is on their hands. (Yes, "all the yuck" was a total mom statement, I'm fully aware).

I was sent the Cars topper that plays "Real Gone" from the movie Cars and the Little Mermaid topper that plays "Under the Sea" from the movie The Little Mermaid. I put the Cars one on without telling the kids and just waited to see how long it would take them to discover it (also a clever way for me to know just how many times they were going to go to the bathroom and not wash their hands...gross, but true). Well, they noticed it pretty much right away and once one saw it, he called the other two in to check it out. Oh, how I love to hear the sound of "Real Gone" drifting out through the bathroom door. Really, are my children actually washing their hands? Yes, it's true, they are!

Don't tell him I told you, but I catch Brian walking around humming the song. Ha ha, my plan worked, all the boys are hooked!!! In all honesty though, I do know that they boys are washing their hands more frequently than they used to. I often hear the door open and them walk out while the song is still playing, so they aren't spending as much time as they should be washing, but right now I'm happy with the improvement that has taken place. Asher though, that kid loves it. I thought the novelty would wear off, but it's been on there for a couple of weeks and that kid stands there and washes the whole time the song is playing before he rinses his hands off. That's good stuff right there.

My niece was here a couple weekends ago and she got a serious kick out of it too, so I am going to give her the Little Mermaid one for her birthday because I know she will love it.

So, do I think Healthy Hands are a product worth buying? ABSOLUTELY? Seriously, if 3 boys washing their hands regularly isn't enough of a testimony to that, then I don't know what you want. Did I mention they're only $3.99 each too? Can't beat that, now can you?

The people over at Healthy Hands would like to offer one of my readers their choice of the Cars or Little Mermaid topper. See below for how to gain entries...

The Wumblers Review

Since we are a Christian family and I am always on the lookout for good products that will be in support of our beliefs, I try to be especially careful of the shows my kids watch and the books they read. I was excited to find The Wumblers books, DVDs, CDs, games and stuffed animals because they are just the type of thing that I love for Asher especially.

Here is how they describe The Wumblers...
The Wumblers is an entertaining and enriching children's dvd, cd, broadcast, and "soon-to-be" book series grounded in The Wumbler Patch brand. Children everywhere enjoy the sweet-natured, whimsical, and humorous collection of Wumbler characters who combine fun with social, global, environmental, and humanitarian learning in a way that parents applaud and kids just can't get enough of.

Both Bertrum, a five year old Wumbler, and Raimundo, his best pal who also happens to be a bilingual, Latin American snail, blend clever story lines with imagination and play, educating children to the "importance of making the world a better place for ALL!" The overall goals of The Wumblers series and The Wumbler Patch brand is to mentor in children a sense of responsibility to human kind and the world that will span lives and improve each generation's outlook and opportunity for a better tomorrow.

Kindest Regards,

Laura J. Wellington, Creator

I was sent the Baby Wumbler Plush Girl (my bad that I didn't let them know I had boys) and The Wumblers - Collection Volume 2 DVD to review.

The plush is this super cute little bright pink fuzzy character with a little tuft of hair on her head and a bow that you can fold up and the little pouch on her back tucks around her and looks like a watermelon (it reminds me of Popples from back in my childhood days, so I love it). She is also wearing a little diaper. Asher liked the "watermelon" but said that since it was pink, he wanted to give it to his cousin, Payton. Let me tell ya, my niece is seriously lucking out lately! They do have boy ones as well that I know Asher would have loved, so be sure to check those ones out too!

The DVD has two episodes on it as well as four songs at the end that are about the seasons. The two episodes are: Roosters Don't Bark - When Mrs. Flynn's rooster, Lenny, overhears how everyone loves dogs and cats, he tries to transform himself into their favorite pets. And, I'm Too Small - Raimundo is too small to go on the Bunt's train ride! In trying to make himself bigger, Raimundo discovers the real value of being himself.

What I really liked about the DVD was that the stories focused on being happy about who you are and not trying to be someone or something you're not. Kids (and adults too) are so pressured to look, think and act a certain way and many people feel like they don't measure up or don't fit in, so I think the lessons on this DVD are very valuable. I also like the songs about the seasons at the end because they are really praise songs.

Asher enjoyed the DVD and I actually did too.

Please visit their website and check out what they are all about and all the great products they offer. Their website has different games and activities for kids as well as a place to register your baby Wumbler and get a birth certificate, so check it out!

SmartKnitKIDS Review & Giveaway

Do you have kids that are sensitive to the seams on socks? My nephew is extremely sensitive to it and my sister-in-law has a heck of a time finding socks for him that don't bother him. I also have a friend whose son has autism and seams on socks really bother him as well, so when I heard about this company, I had to check it out.

Here's a little info about SmartKnitKIDS Socks

SmartKnitKIDS® patented seamless socks are perfect for children experiencing sensory processing differences, hypersensitivity or who simply can’t stand annoying seams! These super soft socks for sensitive little feet will not wrinkle or bunch and are proven to reduce irritation.

No Seams to Bug Ya!
Completely free of seams, the patented kids' socks are designed to provide comfort and relief to children who struggle with “bumps & lumps” in their socks.

Reduces annoying wrinkling and bunching in the shoe
Corespun yarns using Lycra and form-fitting design result in children's socks that “hug” the foot reducing wrinkling and bunching. The form fitting design also helps to keep socks on the wiggliest of toes.

UNIQUE NO HEEL DESIGN
“No heel” design allows children to put on socks with confidence and keeps little feet from outgrowing their socks so quickly.

Comfortable Non-Binding Top
Our non-binding Halo Top™ fits comfortably without slipping down the leg.Regular socks often have elastic bands at the tops of the sock that can often pinch, bind or be a source of irritation.

Keeps Feet Dry & Healthy
SmartKnitKIDS™ Socks are made with high-tech fibers that wick moisture away helping ensure a drier and more hygienic sock environment. They are also anti-microbial, inhibiting fungal odor-causing bacteria.

Although Asher has never really commented much about his socks bothering him, he does have a serious sensitivity to tags in shirts and I hate to see him so uncomfortable, so I can sympathize with moms who have kids who are sensitive to sock seams.

I was sent 3 pairs of socks (2 white and 1 navy) and thought I'd try them out and see what Asher thought of them. He was excited about the little bug wearing socks on the box, so that sold him! LOL I liked that he could easily pull on the socks and that because there are no designated heel areas, there was no top or bottom and he could just pull them on and go. I wondered how the sock would do as far as staying up with no elastic at the top, but it stayed put all day and the sock also didn't get all twisted up like tube socks seem to do. I also liked that due to the material, the navy socks could easily be worn casually or as dress socks.

All in all, I think these socks do exactly what they say they do. I would be very confident to recommend them to anyone who has a child with sensitivities to sock seams and since they make them in a very broad range of sizes, you can get them for babies and even adults.

The nice people over at SmartKnitKIDS would like to offer one of my readers 3 pairs of socks in the size and color of your choice!!! See below for how to gain entries into this giveaway.

11 Years. 11 Years? 11 Years!

I have been a mom for 11 years!!!! How does time go by so fast? My first baby, Gavin William, turns 11 years old today. He'll be going to middle school next year. Plans are in the works for him to move to his own room this summer. Everything is changing at lightning speed!

How can this possibly be? How can I be old enough to have an 11 year old? I actually was just shy of 21 when Gavin was born. Speaking of, where the heck did my 20s go? Oh yeah, I was busy being a mom and loving it!

So, my sweet little Gavin William was born on February 25th, 1999 at 7:38 PM. He was 8 pounds 1.6 ounces and 21 inches long. He was the cutest little thing I had ever seen and I still distinctly remember the first night and being up in the wee hours of the morning, sitting in a rocking chair at the hospital, feeding a bottle (the little stinker had no rooting reflex and breastfeeding proved to be more physically and emotionally exhausting than either of us could handle) to this tiny, spindly legged little creature and just being completely amazed by him. We actually have a picture of that night and his little legs sticking out from under the blanket and I swear I could just gaze at it for hours and remember that night. Brian and I, just kids really and there we were, starting our life together as parents.

Gavin proved to be an absolute delight to everyone. My cousin told me one day "Thank you so much for bringing such a great child into the world." Of course, I know it was the Lord that sent him here and I am so thankful that He blessed us with such a wonderful child. My Dad was absolutely thrilled, after having 3 daughters, to have a grandson. He was just such a joy (still is of course) in our lives.

We have the cutest videos of Gavin. That kid was dancing and loved music from the time he was about 4 months old. He would wiggle all over when music was on, rock back and forth to it when he got to where he was sitting and then full out dance once he could stand up. He just absolutely loved music. That may be why he has developed such a love for playing the guitar and is cruising through lessons. He now plays the acoustic and electric guitars and his goal is to play with the worship band at our church someday. Now that makes this momma feel great!

Gavin also loves sports and for reasons I can't understand or explain (Brian and I are uncoordinated and about as un-athletic as they come) he seems to just pick up quickly and be a natural at any sport he tries. He played soccer for a couple years, but decided he wanted to focus on basketball, since it's his favorite. He hasn't played soccer for years now, but everytime we see his old coach, he tries to convince him to come back. That makes him feel really good. His real passion though is basketball. The kid eats, sleeps and breathes basketball. He's actually playing on two different leagues right now. I'd say he's the Detroit Pistons biggest fan and absolutely loves to go to the games. I think he said he's been to 13 games now. We had an awesome experience where he and Riley were invited down on the court during player introductions and got to high-five the players. I sat in the stands and cried because he was so excited and just blissfully happy. It was such a cool experience and a friend of ours who is the sports writer for our local paper even put an article in the paper about it. It was just awesome.

Now, I won't pretend that this kid has always been perfectly behaved and never caused me to pull some hair out, but all in all he's an amazing kid. I am so happy to be his mom and so excited to see the man he will grow to be. My greatest wish for him is that he will know who he is in the Lord and that he will grow to love Him more and more everyday and live a life that is glorifying to Him. Playing that guitar with the worship band would be a great start and I look forward to that day.

Thank you, God, for entrusting this amazing child to me and I pray for wisdom to best help him grow into the person you want him to be!

me4Kidz Review & Giveaway

As most of you know, I have 3 boys. While my boys aren't the super daring, overly adventurous type, they still manage to acquire their fair share of cuts, scrapes...the usual stuff.

I found a company that keeps all those kinda things in mind and came up with great first aid kits for kids and they are called me4Kidz.

They actually offer a few different products. The Medibag 4 Kids-The original kid-friendly first aid kit, the Medibuddy-For on the go, the Diaper Bag Buddy-
Natural and organic baby basics kit, and the Medibag 4 Petz-Real pet-friendly first aid kit.

I was sent the Medibag 4 Kids to review and was really impressed with how many great things they included.

(30) Assorted Kid-Friendly Bandages
(12) Junior Bandages
(20) Antiseptic Wipes
(4) 2 X 2 Gauze Pads
(4) 3 X 3 Gauze Pads
(2) Knee & Elbow Bandages
(1) Anti-Itch Ointment
(2) Antibiotic Ointments
(1) Burn Gel
(1) Eye Wash
(1) First Aid Guide
(1) Instant Cold Pack
(2) Blue Kid-Friendly Exam Gloves
(1) Hypoallergenic First-Aid Tape Roll
(1) Plastic Disposable Tweezers
(10) Application Swabs
(1) Sting Relief Pad
(1) Emergency Information Label
(20) Kid-Friendly Fun Stickers
(1) Kid-Friendly Organized Doctor's Bag
(1) Coupon for a Free 45 Item Refill Kit

Pretty much anything I could think of is included and many more things that I probably never would have thought of, but that would certainly come in handy.

The heavy-duty plastic Doctor's Bag will be great for having in our bathroom closet while at home and throwing into the motorhome when we're camping this summer. I can't tell you how many times we've neede bandages or other things like that when we've been camping and I always seem to forget to throw some in, but with this kit, I can just grab the bag and throw it in and I'll have everything I need in one easily accessible place.

My most favorite thing about this product though is actually the people who came up with the idea. I have had the pleasure of emailing back and forth with Richelle (she and her husband started the company) and she is so sweet. She and her husband have 3 little boys (see, that immediately sparks a kinship between us) and she also loves the Lord. I am so very happy to be able to share their company and products with all of you because, as you may know, I LOVE to feature companies that are Christian based or have Christian owners.

Well, the lovely Richelle would like to offer one of my readers their Medibuddy which includes...

(15) 3/4 “ X 3” Red, Blue & Yellow Crayon Bandages
(1) 3” Knee & Elbow Bandage
(1) Sting Relief Pad

(3) 5” X 8” Antiseptic Wipes (sting free)

Rock 'N Learn DVD Winners!!!

Here are the winners of the Rock 'N Learn DVDs. Congratulations, ladies!!!

Getting Ready for Kindergarten DVD - Comment #13 - Michigan Momma

Multiplication Rap DVD - Comment #20 - Shelley

South of France Review & Giveaway

No, I'm not crazy and I didn't lie to you, this is still the Kids Event, but I thought the mommas who are on here trying to win something great for their kids deserved the chance to win something great for themselves!

I had the chance to review some really great products from a company called South of France. As you know, I like good and unique smelling soaps, lotions, perfumes, etc. I found some really great ones from South of France.

I was sent the Almond, Citrus Mint and Honey French Milled Bar Soaps, The Tea Tree Sandalwood Glycerin Bar Soap, the Green Tea Liquid Soap and the Acai Pomegranate and Shea Butter Body Lotions.

So far, I have used the Citrus Mint French Milled Bar Soap, the Green Tea Liquid Soap and the Shea Butter Body Lotion and have loved them all.

I really like how light the body lotion is and how just a tiny bit goes a really long way. The lotion smelled light and fresh, not heavily perfumed and overbearing. The Green Tea Liquid soap has a nice clean scent and the color goes perfect in my master bath (I'm kind of weird like that and like for things to match). My favorite though is the Citrus Mint French Milled Bar Soap. I am extremely sensitive to bar soap for some reason. For one, I hate how it feels like it leaves a film on my skin and my skin always feels so dry after I use it. Also, I have some other sensitivities to it (but I don't want to get too personal LOL) so I was kind of feeling bad that they had sent me 4 bars of soap (which are huge, by the way). I decided to just test one out and see what happened though. I peeled off the wrapper and loved the smell of the soap. So different from any other kind of soap I have ever used. Then, to my surprise, it didn't leave a weird film on my skin. The true test though was seeing if I was sensitive to it and I have used it for the past 4 days with no sensitivity whatsoever! I am sold!

That brings me to wanting to share the companies goals and values with you...

proactive products
It’s difficult living in the age of science and technology, where information is abundant and scientists reveal daily how more and more of the products and substances we come into contact with are detrimental to our health. South of France has made a commitment to be diligent and proactive in seeking out this information, understanding how it applies to our products, and reassessing ways to make our products better for you. For example, South of France products don’t contain harmful chemicals such as EDTA, SLS, Parabens or Phthalates, even when many of our competitors continue to do so; another reason why the South of France experience is one that you can feel comfortable trusting.

do no harm
The range of products under the South of France brand are Cruelty Free, which means they will never be tested on animals or contain animal by-products.

pride in quality
South of France utilizes premium ingredients, such as Shea Butter, Pure Vegetable Glycerin, 100% natural Vegetable Oils, Mineral Pigments & Essential Oils, as well as the traditional Triple-French-Milled soap-making technique – all in an effort to provide customers a product with a measure of quality that is simply superior to the competition.

sustainability
South of France searches for ingredients and packaging that decreases the impact on the natural environment. South of France also maintains East and West Coast divisions, which increases distribution efficiency and significantly reduces its carbon footprint.

Now, doesn't that sound like a company that you'd like to do business with? It does to me.

Funky Monkey Snacks Review & Giveaway

Every kid likes snacks and if your kids are like mine, they are nagging you constantly about what they can have to eat (I seriously don't know what I'm going to do when I have 3 teenage boys in the house to feed). I am very big on not feeding them junk, so I'm always looking for healthy snack alternatives. That's how I discovered a company called Funky Monkey.

Funky Monkey snacks are freeze-dried fruit of all different kinds. They have no added sugar and no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives. They are 100% natural and are all Kosher and gluten-free. Not only that, but each bag of Funky Monkey snacks contains 3 servings of fruit! Now, that is awesome.

I was sent each of their 7 flavors to review. The flavors are Bananamon (bananas and cinnamon), Carnival Mix (bananas, apples, papaya and pineapple), Jivealime (lime and pineapple), Purple Funk (banana and acai), Applemon (apples and cinnamon), MangOJ (mango with orange juice) and Pink Pineapple (pineapple with guava).

Now, I must admit, even though my kids love fruit, I wasn't sure how they would feel about freeze-dried fruit. They all decided on the Applemon to be the first that they tried and taadaaaaa, they all liked it! Once they were done with that bag, they wanted to open another one but I made them wait until the next day. We have since eaten all of them and everyone liked every single flavor. Who would've guessed?!

I also tasted each kind and the only one I wasn't totally sold on was the Purple Funk that had the bananas and acai, but that was just my preference. I have to tell you though, the pineapple is downright awesome! Seriously, it was so dang good!

I was very happy with everything about these snacks and would be happy to buy them to give to my kids on a regular basis.

The nice people over at Funky Monkey would like to give one of my readers a Sampler Pack (1 bag of each of their 7 flavors) of their own! See below for how you can gain entries to win!

Fairy Wonderful Review & Giveaway

Now, all you mommas of girls out there are going to go totally nuts over this one and if you don't, there must be something wrong with you! The cuteness is seriously almost more than I can take and it's a darn good thing I don't have little girls or I'd be broke...wait, I already am...but I'd be even more broke. LOL

You absolutely must check out this adorable boutique called Fairy Wonderful. They were so kind to send me an item up to $25 of my choosing to review and I chose the Handprints Boutique TUTU. The colors are so bright and cute and it has an adorable bow and a flower with a rhinestone in it. Seriously, so stinkin' cute! No, I am not planning on dressing my boys in tutus, but I have a niece that is going to be ecstatic over it! My sister (her mom) is an English teacher who minored in dance and teaches dance at the school she teaches at, so Payton (my niece) kind of came by the love of dance naturally. She is all about dancing around and being a little princess, so this tutu is going to be right up her alley and good ol' Aunt Nell here thinks she's going to take the prize for best birthday present for sure! Oh yes, I will most definitely be giving her this tutu for her birthday and I have a hunch she'll be wearing it for the rest of the day. Just look at how darn cute it is...
(I just got the tutu, not the shirt and headband)

Ok, and as if that isn't cute enough to get you to want to race over to look at the boutique, check out these other adorable things they offer...

Seriously, I was drooling over it and I don't even have girls, but if you do I'm guessing you want to get your hands on something from Fairy Wonderful. By the way, they make super cute little boys ties too, so they didn't leave the boys out! But yeah, back to wanting something from the boutique...they have generously offered one of my readers a code for $25 toward merchandise from their site! As you can see, you could get an adorable tutu like I did or use it toward anything else you may like. See below for how to gain entries to win!

Hazelnut Kids Review & Giveaway

As you probably know, natural toys are very popular these days and for good reason. I found a great company called Hazelnut Kids that provides natural, earth-friendly, wooden and organic cotton toys for children and babies. They carry popular brands such as Haba and Plan Toys, as well as many others.

I was excited to receive a Hape Prizm Puzzle to review. We don't have anything like this in our house, so it was something new and unique that captured all 3 of the boys' attention as well as mine. I must confess, I sit and play with it sometimes while we're watching t.v. and create little pictures. I'm pretty much just a big kid anyway.

The puzzle comes with 56 colorful trapezoid and triangle pieces as well as a base to arrange them on. Something I really like about it is that it comes with a drawstring bag to keep everything in, instead of having to keep it somewhere in a bulky box. It also comes with two little booklets. One booklet shows you different patterns you can make and one tells you games you can play with the puzzle.

Asher and I have had a lot of fun looking at the pictures of patterns and picking one and then I point at the shapes and he tells me the shape and the color and then finds it and places it on the base. He loves it and it's fun time spent together while doing something that is making him think at the same time. We've been able to incorporate it into our homeschool time, so it's been great!

Here are a few other toys they offer that I think are super cool!

Plan Toys Chalet Wooden Dollhouse with Furniture

Plan Toys Water Blocks

Challenge and Fun Balance Board Labyrinth

The people over at Hazelnut Kids want to offer one of my readers a $25 gift certificate so that one of you can get your kids a super cool, natural and safe toy! Check out below the different ways you can gain entries into this giveaway!

Curious Chef Review & Giveaway

Asher and I love to cook/bake together and usually make something yummy once a week together while the older boys are at school (typically a baked treat for them to have as a snack when they get home from school). I let him do as much as is possible, but a lot of the time the utensils are too big and awkward for him to handle. We got the most wonderful set of kid's size kitchen utensils (along with some other great goodies) from a company called Curious Chef!

I was able to review their 27 Piece Foundation Set and man is it cool! It comes with a Large Silicone Mixing Spatula, Silicone Pastry Brush, Large Poly Spoon, Whisk, Nylon Cookie Turner, Non Stick Rolling Pin, Kitchen Timer, 6 Piece Measuring Spoon Set, 6 Piece Measuring Cup Set, 3 Quart Mixing Bowl Set, Bear Cookie Cutter, Flower Cookie Cutter, Butterfly Cookie Cutter, and 4 Piece Child Chef Textile Set (apron, chef's hat and oven mitts). Here's a picture of it all for you...

Asher was absolutely thrilled when he was pulling everything out and couldn't wait to put his apron and hat on. He looked so darn cute!

I had a leftover refrigerated pie crust that I didn't want to go to waste, so Asher and I made some simple little cinnamon rolls as an after-school treat for the older boys (ok, for us too). Asher got in his little Apron and Chef hat and we got out the utensils he was going to use and he pretty much did it all himself. He brushed some melted butter onto the pie crust with his pastry brush, sprinkled cinnamon and sugar onto it and rolled it up. I cut it up and he helped me arrange it onto the cookie sheet and then he put on his little oven mitts and put the cookie sheet into the oven. It was so cute to see him so excited. I pulled the pan out of the oven when it was done, but he used his little cookie turner to pick them up off the cookie sheet and onto a plate. They were yummy and he had fun and now his "cooking gear" is one of his favorite little things. Such a fun way for us to spend time with each other and make something yummy that the whole family can enjoy. It makes Asher feel special when he cooks and then has his Dad and brothers tell him what a good job he did. It's awesome! Check out the pictures of our cooking process...

I think Curious Chef makes it easy and fun for kids to help out in the kitchen. It gives them a sense of responsibility and makes them feel special and accomplished. Who doesn't want that for their children? The coolest part is, that Curious Chef wants to give one of my readers a 27 Piece Foundation Set of their own! That's a $59.99 value set for free! Seriously, that's awesome and very generous! See below how you can earn entries to get this great set for your little one!

Spread Heads Review

I was sent a few products for review from a company called Spread Heads! These are funny little characters that you attach to the tops of things such as ketchup, mustard and toothpaste to add something fun to your squeezing experience. LOL

I was sent Ketchup Charlie who you attach to the top of your ketchup bottle (they attach easily by just screwing on) who has the ketchup come out of his nose like a nosebleed and Mustard Marvin who pretty much pukes out the mustard. Ok, I know what you're thinking, gross right? Well, they are pretty much a little boy's dream idea. LOL My boys thought they were hilarious and I have to admit, Brian, my cousin Rachel and I were quite amused ourselves. At only $3.99 each, they are a cheap and fun way to liven up a picnic or birthday party (which is when they seem the most practical to use, seeing as you can't really put them back in the fridge with them on because there is nothing to close them with).

The other products they sent me for review were Toothpaste Oscar and Toothpaste Pete. Oscar is a cat and Pete is a dog. They attach to the top of the toothpaste tube and when you squeeze the toothpaste, it comes out of their mouth. The are pretty darn cute. The also have a little arm attached to them and you put it in their mouth to close the tube, so that's nifty. The kids think they are cool. My only issue is they get all covered in toothpaste because kids don't tend to be especially neat with that kinda thing, so I have to go wash them off constantly. But, the kids think it's fun and if it's something that makes the idea of brushing your teeth fun for kids, I'm all about it. They are only $4.99 each, so they are an inexpensive way to add fun to teeth brushing time.

I am thinking these would be great to grab and hold onto for stocking stuffers or to use as prizes for games you play at a birthday party or something like that. So, go to the Spread Heads website and check them out!

Rock 'N Learn Review and Giveaway!

Yay for educational DVDs! I am so excited to introduce you to Rock 'N Learn. This great company combines catchy songs and fun animation with educational content. My kids are loving it!

I was sent Getting Ready for Kindergarten for Asher and he has watched it about 6 times already and keeps talking about it. I have to be honest, I tried to watch it with him the one time and I just couldn't sit through it, but it obviously offers something that keeps him interested and that's what I'm concerned about. He walks around singing the little songs about getting dressed and talks about how to tie shoes. He calls it his "Kindergarten movie" and since he's so excited to go to school next year, he gets excited that he's learning stuff that will get him ready for school. I think it's great and I'm super happy with what it's teaching him.

Here's the description from the Rock 'N Learn website...
Jill and Joey are so excited about starting kindergarten! Your kids will get excited too, as they learn essential skills through fun songs, animated characters, and real children. Skills include colors, counting, tying shoes, following directions, holding a pencil, printing letters and numbers, listening, number recognition and printing numbers through ten, getting dressed, left/right directions, and more.

Ages 3 - 5. Approx. 45 minutes.

The other great DVD I was sent to review is Multiplication Rap. Riley (my 7 1/2 year old) is a big fan. He has watched it several times and was so excited about it that he took it to school and showed his teacher and she said they could watch it toward the end of the year because that's when they will begin to touch on multiplication. He's so excited to be learning multiplication before they are even teaching it at school and I'm excited for him about it! It's such a wonderful thing to see your children ahead of the game and know they aren't struggling through learning. The concept of the DVD is super simple and I think that's what makes it so effective. I can already see how it's helping Riley, so I'm totally on board with it!

Here's the description from the website...
Everyone loves rapping along and learning multiplication with D.J. Doc—the Hip Hop Hamster. Positive lyrics, super-cool rap music, and high-energy action make these multiplication rap songs irresistible. Multiplication facts through 12 are easy to learn and remember with these fun rap songs—a different one for each set of rap facts. Now includes Skip Counting songs. Choose from DVD video or audio CD & book programs.

Ages 8 & up. Approx. 50 minutes

They have tons of other great DVDs that teach things like Telling Time, Money and Making Change, Spanish, Solar System, Grammar and many more. Not only are these great for helping along kids in school, but they would be great for homeschoolers as well. They put all the important lessons in a simple and practical form that makes them easy for the kids to understand. What could be better than that?

I am a HUGE fan of these DVDs and what this company is providing to kids and families. I highly recommend them and think that if your child is struggling with learning, that you should get these DVDs because I'm sure that they will be a huge help and build confidence in your child!

The seriously rockin' people over at Rock 'N Learn would like to give one of these two DVDs that I reviewed to 2 of my readers. One of you will win the Getting Ready for Kindergarten DVD and the other will win the Multiplication Rap DVD. See below for how to enter to win these great DVDs!!!

BE SURE TO FOLLOW THE ENTRY DIRECTIONS EXACTLY FOR YOUR ENTRIES TO COUNT!!!!

This contest will be open until 11:59 PM on February 23rd. At that time I will use random.org to determine the winner. The winner will then be emailed and have 24 hours to respond, otherwise I will choose a new winner. This contest is open to U.S. residents.

Blabla Kids Reveiw and Discount

I received the cutest little stuffed doll/animal for review from a great company called Blabla Kids. The doll is from their Boogaloos collection and is named Inoo-lala. Asher loves it! He sleeps with it, carries it around, takes it in the car with him, etc. It's so cute to hear him say Inoo-lala too! I think it's one of the cutest and most different little stuffed dolls I've ever seen and now that I've had the opportunity to see it in person, it makes me that much more excited about all of the other adorable items they offer. Everything is so unique and would make such great gifts. All I know is, it's a good thing I don't have babies anymore or I would be in some serious trouble with this stuff because there is so much of it that I love!

Here's a picture of Inoo-lala for you. I think Asher really likes him because he says he looks like an alien. Of course, he's a boy and all things space/alien related appeal to him.

I'd like to share a little bit about the company with you, because I think it will give you a better understanding of who they are and what they do. I find their story to be intriguing and I think you will as well.
(Click on the pictures below to see them up close)

They have so many absolutely adorable products to offer. The knit is so soft and cozy and the fact that the products are handmade just make them so unique and special. I love to find gifts that are different and will be sure to be something that is treasured for years to come and Blabla's products are exactly that. Here are some more of my favorite pieces that they offer...

One of the many adorable hat and booties sets they offer.

Aren't these finger puppets so darn cute?

Some adorable little outfits (notice how they even have stuffed dolls/animals that match the clothes)!

A cute little monkey backpack. They have many other styles to choose from as well. (I'm just kind of drawn to monkeys)

One of their sweet little knit dolls.

They offer all sorts of clothes for their dolls. Little girls would love these!

Have you ever seen cuter rattles? Yes, these are rattles!

A sweet and completely unique mobile.

You're lovin' it, aren't you?! How could you not?

Well, the great news is that the wonderful people over at Blabla Kids have offered all of my readers a coupon code for 15% off of your purchase! The coupon is valid from February 17th through March 17th, so you have a whole month to decide what goodies you want and to get them at 15% off! The coupon code is feb15 and can be entered at checkout. So, what are you waiting for? Get over to Blabla Kids and check out all the cute stuff they have and find something for your little one or someone else's, that is sure to be a treasured keepsake!
